Prudential Bank donated a Volkswagen double cabin pickup truck in support of the 2020 Teacher Prize in Accra. Executive Head of Operations at Prudential Bank Mr. Thomas Broni remarked that teachers represented one of the most important professional groups in Ghana that play a crucial role in developing the Ghana human resources. Mr. Broni noted that a motivated teacher was crucial for successful classroom engagement, which necessitates the need to support and motivate teachers at all times.

Teachers give children purpose, set them up for success as citizens… The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and a motivated teacher is that critical component that ensures that children are ready for their future.

A statement from Prudential Bank noted that the bank has supported Ghana’s National Teacher Prize over the past several years because the bank believes in the important role teachers’ play in the society, selflessly nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Mr. Christian Addai-Poku, Acting Executive Secretary of the National Teaching Council received the gift and thanked Prudential Bank. Mr. Addai-Poku said teachers have been at the forefront of providing support for learners even in the pandemic period as the world was faced the greatest crisis since World War II.
