Rabotec Group donated educational supplies worth GHS30,000 to 16 primary and junior high schools within its Obotan and Esaase catchments in Amansie South District of Ashanti.
The gift includes 10,000 exercise books, 1,000 pencils and pieces of chalk.
CEO of Rabotec Group Mr. Ali Ibrahim said the vision of the company was to groom the children to take over the mines in the next 10 to 20 years.
Mr. Ibrahim said the donation of school supplies to meant to build solid educational background for local communities to take charge of the mines in line with its local content law.
Ag. Community Affairs Manager for Asanko Gold Mr. Jerry J. Duah said Rabotec’s vision was consistent with that of Asanko and the new partnership will help promote reading culture within the district.
GES Circuit Supervisor for Datano Circuit, Mr. Pious Affum called for collaboration between all stakeholders in the country’s educational sector, including the private sector, to ensure effective implementation of new government policy policy.
