Republic Bank Ghana commissioned a new classroom building for Berase AME Zion Basic School in the KEEA District of Cape Coast. The new school facility was constructed as part of Republic Bank Ghana’s Power-to-Make-a-Difference initiative. Prior to its construction, the older classroom building had fall into a state of disrepair and posed danger to students and staff.

The new facility has a 6-classroom block complete with student desks, a furnished headmaster’s office, teachers’ common room, toilet facilities, sports changing room and a fully stocked library.

Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana Mr. Farid Antar expressed his appreciation to the people of Berase for the opportunity given to the Bank to serve them. Mr. Antar noted that Republic Bank believes in its Power to Make a Difference built on four pillars namely:

    • The Power to Care
    • The Power to Help
    • The Power to Learn and
    • The Power to Succeed.

Mr. Antar said nothing gives the team at Republic Bank greater joy or reward than getting the chance to make important differences in the lives of others.

Board Chairman of Republic Bank Ghana  Mr. Charles W. Zwennes advised leaders of the Community to utilize the facility as a center of excellence and a beacon of hope to provide quality education for their children.

The Chiefs and leaders of the Community commended the Management and staff of the bank for their kind gesture and timely intervention. They assured the Management of Republic Bank of their commitment to maintain property diligently.
