Roofings and Steel Ghana Ltd, a subsidiary of Fabrimetal Ghana Ltd, commissioned a new bus stop shelter project at the Achimota Retail Centre in Accra (Achimota Mall) to serve commuters in the city’s busy public spaces while promoting the practice of social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The company also donated a package of health and safety equipment to the Artisanal Association of Ghana.

Marketing Manager of Roofings and Steel Ghana Ltd, Mr. David Mawunya said the bus stop shelter project is part of the company’s CSR commitments to support communities and impact lives. In a marketing message, Mr. Mawunya said Roofings and Steel Ghana produces import substitutes of the highest quality in Ghana with safety and sustainability being a core priority in all the company’s operations.

The President of the Artisanal Association of Ghana Mr. Gideon Bidor commended Roofings and Steel Ghana Ltd for its commitment to supporting the training of Ghanaian artisans and promoting their works. Mr. Bidor said the association will continue to collaborate with the company to institute an award scheme to honour excellence in the artisanal field.

Mr. Richard Donkor, Environmental Health Analyst of Ga East Municipal Assembly, thanked Roofings and Steel Ghana Ltd for the support and appealed to Ghana’s artisans to incorporate occupational health and safety practices into their work routines to minimize workplace accidents.
