Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central collaborated with Crutches4Africa to mobilize US$150,000 worth of mobility aids for societies of people living with impaired mobility. The gift comprised donated wheelchairs (3,000), crutches (5,025), walking frame (1,503), knee braces (1,231), calipers and prosthetics.
The gift was part of the club’s annual project and part of events marking the club’s 33rd anniversary. Club members reached out to persons with disability with the hope to to assist them rebuild their lives, move more freely and go about their daily lives with confidence as everyone else in Ghana.
Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Ms. Cynthia Mamle Morrison recieved the gift on behalf of beneficiaries and commended Rotary club for their kindness. Minister Morrison promised to ensure that the donated equipment are delivered to the intended beneficiaries.
Crutches 4 Africa is a nonprofit that distributes mobility aids for people with physical disabilities free of charge.
