The Salvation Army-Ghana Territory, led by Col. Joseph Lukaus distributed relief items worth $20,000 to victims of a recent flood at Agona Nyakrom in Agona West District of the Central Region.

Affected individuals numbering over 500 victims received rice, cooking oil, clothing, fabrics and cash.

The Secretary of Programmes of the Church, Lt Col. Samuel Kyeremeh said the church was touched by appeals from the affected people in the aftermath of the floods.

Lt. Col Kyeremeh, together with the Director of Medical and Social Services of the church, Mr Paul Bamfo, encouraged the people to maintain clean environmental practices in their respective communities and to avoid building on waterways to allow free flow of water.

Gyantoahene of Nyakrom Nana Odum VII received the items on behalf of the victims and the traditional council and thanked the Salvation Army for the assistance.
