Samsung Ghana donated 500 Galaxy A2 Core cellphones to Government of Ghana for distribution to frontline health workers.. The cellphones will enhance communication and help monitor the movement of testing and care resources associated with COVID-19. Samsung Ghana noted that there was great need for businesses to respond to the crisis and support government to help the Ghanaian people.

Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa Mr. Eugene Nahm described the assistance package as an essential part of Samsung’s strategy to support Ghana’s mission to curb the infection rate and flatten the COVID-19 growth curve. Mr. Nahm announced that the thoughts of Samsung was with Ghana as COVID-19 made its way across the country. He explained that Samsung had dedicated its resources to help and would continue to work with government. Mr. Nahm announced that Samsung’s partner MTN Ghana will provide free sim cards with 500MB of data every month for six months for the donated devices.

Minister of Information Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah received the cellphones on behalf of the Government of Ghana and commended Samsung and MTN for the support.
