Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans committed over GHS600,000 in investments in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives for educational institutions across Ghana. Some 150 elementary schools in Ashanti and Central Regions of Ghana have already benefited from the initiative since it begun in 2020.

Management of Sinapi Aba say the initiative is needed to strengthen both schools and community investments in the WASH sector to help fight the COVID-19 virus. Sinapi Aba WASH Project Manager Mr. Justice Arthur said the Sinapi Aba focuses on assisting schools and micro schools in its catchment projects and extends support to them through its ‘EDUWASH for Schools.’

As part of the project, Sinapi Aba provides schools with with polytanks, sanitizers, veronica buckets, washing bowls and supplies water to help improve the hygiene situation in schools. The company also provides training services for the teachers, school proprietors, and caterers on sanitation and hygiene, water-related diseases and access to school improvement loans.

Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans, plans to expand its sanitation investment to other regions of the Ghana.
