SMT Ghana, official distributor of Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Penta in Ghana reached out to Klaas Haven Montessori School in Kasoa with a special assistance package. SMT Ghana provided full tuition and feeding scholarships for six bright students at the school. The company painted the entire school building and donated a set of Veronica buckets and accessories, stationery and other school supplies.

In comments made at the giving event, Marketing Manager of SMT Ghana Mrs. Hilda Peasah described the support for the Klass Haven as part of SMT Ghana’s CSR commitments that targets giving back to society, especially to communities within the company’s operational areas. Mrs. Peasah explained that as part of the SMT Afica Group, the company’s core values was “caring, daring and sharing,’ which is why the SMT Ghana stepped in to help when the school asked for support.

“Education is one of the key factors of development and no country can achieve sustainable economic development without investing in its human capital. That is why SMT Ghana takes pride in supporting education, Mrs. Peasah said.

Mr. Christoph Edem Kobla Damalie, Principal/Director Klaas Haven Montessori School thanked SMT Ghana for the generous support and appealed to Corporate Ghana to help support Government efforts in promoting access to education across Ghana. Mr. Damalie said Klaas Haven Montessori School was established in 2000 to inculcate human rights into the educational system so that kids would not have to wait to be older before they understood basic societal issues.

Top Executives of the SMT Ghana including Mr. Felix Ofosu-Kontoh, Sales Director, Mr. Leonardo Aguiar, Technical Director, Mr. Godfred Sessah-Johnson, Health & Safety Manager, Mrs. Beatrice Oduru-Afranie, HR Director and Mrs. Hilda Peasah, Marketing Manager were present at Klaas Haven Montessori School to hand over the scholarship packages and the items.

Parents of the scholarship beneficiaries were excited about the offer and thanked SMT Ghana for giving their kids hope for the future.
