The St. John Hospital and Fertility Center donated an ambulance to the Ghana Prisons Service as part of the hospital’s social responsibility commitments. Ghana Prisons Service has had difficulties transporting sick inmates to hospitals. As elsewhere where this problem pertains, lives have been lost due to the unavailability of vehicles to transport the sick.

There has been appeals to corporate bodies to help address this matter and prevent needless loss of lives. St. John Hospital and Fertility Center, under the leadership of Acting CEO Ms. Maame Yaa Antwi responded to the call and came to the help of the Prisons Service.

Director General in charge of Prisons Mr.  Patrick Darko Missah thanked the St. John team for the donation, which he described it as timely considering that most of the health facilities had been upgraded without any ambulance service.
