Staff of Stanbic Bank donated fifteen classroom storage cupboards and 1,000 exercise books to La Yahoushua School in Labone, Accra. The gift was part of the Stanbic’s celebration of this year’s Mandela Day.

Head of Human Capital at Stanbic Bank Mr. Samuel Teye said supporting Yahoushoua School was consistent with Stanbic Ghana’s purpose of growing the African continent, which he interpreted, in this instance, as impacting the lives of children. Mr. Teye explained that the team at Stanbic Bank believed in the cause of Mandela and his passion for humanity and education.

Headmistress of La Yahoushua school Ms. Cate Dornya commended Stanbic Ghana for its support over the past four years.

Mandela Day is an annual international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on 18 July, Mandela’s birthday. The day was officially declared by the United Nations in November 2009.
