Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Ltd donated food and essential supplies to Mama Happy Life Enhancement Foundation (MAHLEF), a nonprofit at Bankuman in Tema Manhean that shelters 29 teenage mothers, 200 children, 45 widows, and over 130 single and struggling mothers.

The gift package included rice, maize, gari, beans, oil, beverages, treats, fish, chicken and evaporated milk, noodles, diapers, toiletries and other supplies. General Manager of Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Ltd Mr. Jin Zhengi (aka Kofi King) said the donation was part of the company’s CSR commitments and demonstration of the company’s desire to support and enhance the living conditions of all residents at MAHLEF. Mr. Jin Zhengi said MALHEF was doing good work in the community, notably its outstanding work in education, addressing teenage pregnancy and widow and orphan care.

“It’s time to show love and support to the people around us who are doing great things to make our communities better,” Mr. Zhengi said.

Executive Director of Mama Happy Life Enhancement Foundation (MAHLEF) Rev. Georgina Happy Crentsil described the NGO as a community-based orphan care program that focused on teenage pregnancy and equipped youths with vocational skills and educational training while also addressing basic needs such as nutrition, clothing, and healthcare costs. Rev. Crentsil was excited about the assistance from Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Ltd and expressed the nonprofit’s appreciation.

“We really appreciate Sunon Asogli company for this great work they have done. They keep on supporting MAHLEF in this community. They are always here when we call and so we want to say a big thank you. No other company has responded to us like they have done. We are very grateful,” she added.
