Tema Shipyard and Drydock Ltd gave an assortment of supplies and GH¢5,500 to the Marfo Children Care Foundation at Community 11 in Tema.
The donated items included bags of rice, cartons of canned fish, toiletries and others.
Head of Planning at Tema Shipyard Senam Fiagbenya said management of Shipyard and Drydock deemed it prudent to give back to society.
As a corporate body, we believe we should care and support the community in which we operate in. And so we couldn’t have gone through a whole successful year without giving back to the community.
Senam expressed the commitment of the company to continue to support the foundation.
Receiving the items on behalf of the foundation, Rev. Isaac Appenteng, Board Chairman of the Marfo Children Care Foundation, expressed gratitude to the management of the company for the kind gesture.
He promised to ensure that the children benefit from the items, appealing to philanthropists, individuals and institutions to offer support to less privileged in society.
The Marfo Children Care Foundation currently has 17 children, with some already in the tertiary and second cycle institutions.
