Children of The BabyNest, an early childhood development centre in Accra donated a package of food and essential supplies to children from low-income families in Gbegbeyise community in Accra.
The gift package included toiletries, detergents, confectionery, biscuits, rice, sugar, bowls, cups, food flasks, clothing, school supplies and learning materials and toys. Some 100 children in the community are expected to benefit from the gift package.
The outreach was part of activities marking the school’s annual ‘I Care Day’, which is used to support the welfare and education of children from low-income backgrounds. Parents of the little kids contributed the gift resources with the objective of modeling acts of kindness and charitable giving for the children.
Ms. Awo Fiadjoe, Executive Director of The BabyNest, explained that the social outreach would instill the virtues of charity and compassionate care in the students. She thanked the parents who contributed to the effort and expressed confidence that the donation would have a positive impact on the beneficiaries.
