UBA Foundation launched the 2016 edition of the UBA Foundation National Essay Competition in Ghana.

CEO of UBA Ghana Mrss. Abiola Bauwah appealed to Directors of the Ghana Education Service who were present to help raise awareness about the competition. Mrs. Bauwah was hopeful that this year’s entries would match or even out-match similar entries submitted in other African countries where the competition was being held.

CEO of UBA Foundation, Ijeoma Aso reiterated UBA’s commitment to fostering educational development in Africa, especially in countries where UBA has presence. She joined Abiola to appeal to the Ghana Educational Services (GES) to help create awareness in schools about this laudable initiative.

Ms. Araba Zentey, a Deputy Director of GES, who declared the launch open for 2016, stated the firm commitment of GES to promoting the initiative. She also noted that GES was very appreciative of UBA’s commitment to the development of education in Ghana.

Other witnesses at the launch include Mrs. Adjuba Adu-Tutu, programmes coordinator for the secondary school division of GES and Ms. Docas N. Darko, one of the winners of the 2014 edition of the National Essay Competition in Ghana, who is now studying Political Science & Information Studies at the University of Ghana.
