Unichem Ghana Group donated medication to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, Tema General Hospital and Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital). The gift package included:

  • Antibiotics (Azilex, Azithromycin), a medication used in treating COVID-19 in combination with hydroxychloroquine, a popular anti-malaria drug.
  • Luex Cough Syrup and
  • WORMBAT, a locally made de-wormer manufactured by Unichem Industries.

Unichem announced that some of its global partners, including Luex U.K., were supporting ongoing global clinical trial efforts. Senior Pharmacist at Unichem Ghana Mr. Solomon Odamtten observed that Ghana was still far from having a perfect healthcare system. He however noted that thanks to the professional, committed and compassionate medical workers at the front line, Ghana was in good hands. Mr. Odamtten gave the assurance that Unichem would continue to deliver quality health care and pledged the company’s continued support for effort to stem the spread of the virus.

Medical Director of Greater Accra Regional Hospital Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh received the items on behalf of the hospital and thanked the Unichem for the important and timely support.
