Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association donated GHS300,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund set up by government to assist the needy and vulnerable as the country battles to stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus, Covid-19 in Ghana. Chairman of the Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association Mr. Boakye Yiadom commended President Akufo-Addo his handling of COVID-19 crisis and urged other groups and businesses to contribute to the cause to fight the pandemic.
General Secretary of Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association Mr. Asante Boateng Kwaning cautioned residents within locked down areas to adhere to the directives of government to help contain the spread of the virus. He also urged Ghanaians to stay at home and practice regular hand washing practice and social distancing.
Chief of Staff at Jubilee House Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei Opare received the cheque and thanked the Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association for their thoughtfulness and kindness. Mrs Opare announced that the COVID-19 Trust Fund would soon have its own offices at the Jubilee House and that the Fund will ensure proper, efficient and judicious use of all resources for the benefit of individuals in need of assistance and the socially vulnerable.
