In the spirit of Ramadan, Ussuya Ghana Limited donated 100 bags of maize worth GHS10,000 to the Upper West Regional Hospital in Wa to support the feeding of admitted patients. The support for the hospital is also part of the company’s effort to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Rafiq Salam, a representative of Ussuya Ghana Limited said the month of Ramadan was also a month of sharing and so Ussuya Ltd deemed it a part of its CSR commitments to support some institutions and individuals in the Upper West Region. Mr. Salam recalled that this gazetted donation was not the first from Ussuya Ltd to the people of Wa. He recalled that the company donated GHS120,000 worth of PPE and critical supplies to the Upper West Regional Hospital at the height of the pandemic.

Director of Upper West Regional Hospital Dr. Robert Amesiya received the package of maize and expressed gratitude to Ussuya Ltd. Dr. Amesiya promised that the donated food will be utilized diligently for the benefit of the hospital’s patents. He noted that the hospital was still admitting COVID patients and that the donated maize will support patient feeding commitments of the hospital.

Ussuya Ghana Ltd is a leading construction firm in Ghana. In 2020, the company diversified into farming with projects in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issah (DBI) District. Several acres of maize was planted as part of the farming venture in DBI.
