Vivo Energy Ghana (VEGH) donated ten new laptop computers to the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to support the 2021 Otumfuo Teachers Awards set to be hosted by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at Manhyia Palace to recognise the dedication to service of teachers across Ghana.

Speaking at the giving event at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana Mr. Ben Hassan Ouattara, described the gift as part of the company’s CSR commitments to the people the company served. Mr. Ouattara pledged VEGH’s commitment to support efforts to impact the lives of people in Ghana, especially in its operational areas, by promoting road safety, education and environmental sustainability.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended Vivo Energy Ghana for supporting the 2021 Otumfuo Teachers Awards and commended the company for creating numerous job opportunities in Asanteman. The Asantehene noted that the company’s Retailer Sustainability Programme complemented government’s efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 during its peak.

The Asantehene explained that he award scheme was targeted at building the capacities of selfless teachers, especially teachers in remote rural areas with limited access to resources. The Asantehene added that the awards served as motivation and appreciation for all teachers to keep the good work and to help transform Ghana’s educational system. He called for individuals and institutions to come on board to encourage teachers who were wholeheartedly contributing towards the progress of education Ghana.
