The Volta Union in the UK and Europe donated personal protective equipment and sanitary supplies to Ho Teaching Hospital to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation package included 2,500 pieces of face masks, 4,000 hand gloves and 500 pieces of 65ml hand sanitizers.

Chief of Srogboe Togbi Kpatamia IV who is the Country Representative of the union said members of the union were motivated by the desire to contribute to the fight against the spread of the virus. He hoped that the donated PPE and supplies would help address some of the challenges the hospital faced.

CEO of Ho Teaching Hospital Dr. John Tampuri received gift package and expressed gratitude to the Volta Union in UK/ Europe. Dr. Tampuri said the support had come in at a time the hospital most needed it. He noted that while the pandemic numbers had reduced significantly, there was still the need to increase protection for the general public by observing the safety protocols. He hoped others philanthropic organizations would follow the example and donate resources to complement the government’s effort in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
