Zoomlion donated 50 laptops to bright students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The donation was the company’s contribution to KNUST’s ‘Support One Needy Student with One Laptop‘ (SONSOL) campaign, which appeals to businesses to support bright students in need of assistance by giving each student a laptop computer to support their undergraduate studies.

In remarks at the donation event, Director of Communications & Corporate Affairs of Zoomlion Ghana Limited Mrs. Emma Akyea-Boakye observed that KNUST’s charitable innovation was consistent with the Zoomlion’s mission of improving the lives of the people and their environment.

Mrs. Akyea-Boakye hoped that the beneficiary students would find the laptops useful in their research and studies. She affirmed the commitment of Jospong Group and Zoomlion Ghana Ltd to continue supporting KNUST.

Corporate leaders from Zoomlion who witnessed the presentation included Corporate Affairs Manager of Zoomlion Daniel Ohene Obeng,and General Manager of Ashanti East (Zoomlion Ghana Limited) Mr. Franklin Ofori Akuffo.

Vice-Chancellor of KNUST Prof Rita Akosua Dickson commended Zoomlion and other corporate donors for their assistance. Overall, some 593 brilliant and needy students of KNUST received laptops worth GH¢2.96 million donated by Zoomlion and other companies, alumni and philanthropic individuals to the ‘Support One Needy Student with One Laptop‘ campaign.
